Level detector for multiple densities despite abrasives and dust

May 13, 2024

DJ level detectors provide high-, mid- or low-point level measurement of bulk solids of varying densities, ranging from low-density flakes and powders to pellets and heavy granular materials. They also handle abrasive properties and dust generation. Specialized units are available for temperatures exceeding 300 °F. DJ is built for a long operating life because it requires no adjustments and has no moving parts, gaskets or seals to deteriorate. It’s dependable in dusty environments, vessels, storage bins or hoppers with vibrators.

DJ arrives ready for installation with no field calibration required. A separate control unit permits easy set up at any convenient location. It’s mounted through a ¾-in. half-coupling at desired level-detection point, eliminating costly flanges, float chamber or fittings. DJ relies on mechanical oscillations to determine if its probe is covered or uncovered. Signals from the detector operate a single-pole, double-throw relay in the control unit. Its relay contacts can actuate alarms, indicator lights or process control equipment. DJ is approved for Class I, Group C & D; Class II, Groups E, F & G; and Class III services.
